Week #10 (20)

Last week, when I set the prompt, it was dark & ghostly with Halloween all around. This week here in the UK I can hear whizzes & bangs of fireworks taking off. This is to celebrate the failure of the Gunpowder Plot when a group of Catholic protesters tried to blow up Parliament in 1605 & get rid of the Protestant King James I.

We have effigies of Guy Fawkes, who was arrested while guarding the explosives & these are thrown onto bonfires. I understand it is a celebration that is not restricted to the UK though, so do tell us in the comments below, if you have a firework celebration.

This is the weekend when all across the world, we remember those people who fought in the many wars since the First World War. On November 11th at 11 0’clock in 1918 the armistice was signed, ending the Great War. Sadly, it was not the war to end all wars as people thought so on Remembrance Day we think about all those who have been caught up in conflict since that first armistice.

To remember this, the prompt this week is

RED

You can interpret it in any way you like. I look forward to your posts.

The form will close on 16th November at 23.45 UK time
