Newsletter – Week#4

Hello everyone!

Please read these important notes:

Check access to your blogs. Lots of you have them closed only for the class. Get someone to try to access them as you will be able to get in
Check your spam boxes (particularly Primary blogger)
In the drop down menu for people to choose when commenting, please add ‘Name’ so that those without google accounts or other options can comment

I do hope your posts got comments last week. If they didn’t please check back to see if they were greyed out. That means the link was wrong. Do let me know if you didn’t get any comments

I was sorry to receive notice from some schools that they are not able to provide someone to join Tewam 100 & therefore will not be taking part. The person does not have to have anything to do with the school & it really only takes an hour to do 10. At the moment people are only doing 5!

News letter for Week#39

Hello everyone and welcome to Week#39.

ONLY ONE MORE WEEK!

Thank you if you have filled out the sign up form. Can I explain about the Team member name. As you know it is getting comments that really inspires our pupils and to make sure they get plenty I have asked that each class provides the name of at least one person to join Team 100.

Many of you, have put your names forward. I am a bit concerned about that as you are likely to be commenting on your own class (I hope!) so to take on an additional set could be too much.

I’m sure you can persuade another teacher or a parent, grandparent, friend to be the named person. They will get some guidelines and a weekly email to support them. If you can change the name, let me know and I’ll change the data base.

Finally, there were still a few links that had to be shaded as they were incorrect. Do make sure the children are linking correctly if they are posting themselves.

Hi everyone!

We are having a wonderful spell of warm summer weather here in the UK. I hope wherever you are in the world, you are not too wet or cold!

Thank you to all who have signed up for next year. Please make sure you put the NAME of the team member so that I can contact them when we start again on 24th August with the guidelines and numbers.

Hello all!

I hope you have had a good week!

If you do 5 Sentence Challenge please check out the showcase as well as the latest challenge . Please remember that it is for emerging writers.

If you check out Week#36 prompt you will see that a number of links have been shaded out. This means they were incorrectly linked

Make sure you complete the Sign Up Form to make sure you can take part in the new challenge. You will see there is a box about Team 100. As you know, it is getting comments that makes 100WC so special to the pupils but with so many entries, it is really difficult to make sure each entry gets some.

If each school can provide at least one person to comment each week, we will be able to cover all posts. They do not have to you the class teacher! Try to get a parent or fellow teacher or classroom assistant involved. They have maximum of 10 to comment on & it does only take an hour!

If this is a problem for you, please get in touch!

Newsletter Week#36

Hello everyone!

Exciting news! The new SIGN UP form is ready. It is HERE

You will see a new box has been added. That is for the name of someone you can put forward to join Team 100. It is really important that we get more people commenting. They only have to do 10 numbers MAXIMUM each week so please pop their name in so that I can contact you about it over the summer.

The prompt for 100WC this week is another fabulous picture. Your writers will need to think logically though in order for their stories to make sense! Which is real – the people or the egg?!

Some of you will not have received any comments as your posts were not correctly linked. You will see they have been shaded on the list. You may also be short of comments due to team members being on holiday so apologies but do keep entering as I am trying to cover as many posts as possible.

I hope you have a had a good break if you have been on holiday!

You may have noticed that some links have been shaded in the list. That means that those links are incorrect and the shading is to let Team 100 know not to bother clicking. Where possible I try to let you know but do check for yourselves.

As holidays are now starting to be taken, some of your posts may not get comments. I’m really sorry but until we have a lot more members of Team 100 there is nothing I can do.

Hello everyone!

I know some of you are on holiday but some of you are not so I am posting as usual. If you can join in do! The half term in the UK means you may be short of comments. Perhaps you could all find someone to join Team 100!!

Do you think I should make it part of the new sign up form (out soon!) that every school should have someone to join Team 100? would you be put off if that was one of the criteria?

One reason that I am closing for the summer is that as most members of Team100 come from the UK, they are on holiday and it is almost impossible to keep comments coming, even though the number of entries may be lower.

If we had a larger commenting team, we could continue all year round so please try to fond someone. They only have to do a maximum of 10!

Advanced Notice

Ed is going to work on 100WC site over the UK holidays so there will not be any prompts. I would like to continue to support your blogs though so intend to resurrect Blog Dipping. Check it out! All you have to do is send me the link of a particular post on your blog that you would like to share across the world. I link it to the Blog Dipping site & tweet it out for you.

I need to decide the date of the last prompt for 2013/14 and the first prompt of 2014/15 so have set up a survey for you to let me know your availability.

Once you have completed the survey I will be able to issue a new Sign Up form for the new year.Many of you have changed jobs / contact details that it will be best to start with a fresh data base.
