You post your entries here as usual and then on 29th February, you can post them on the Feb 29th.net site. It should be great fun so I hope you will all try to ‘double’ post!

Again, just as it says on the tin, the children have to write just 5 Sentences.They must be properly constructed with full stops and capital letters. A general prompt will be set each Friday and the link will be open for 2 weeks. Hopefully that will give teachers time to discuss the prompt with the children and for their ideas to be logged then written.

It will follow the same format as the 100 Word Challenge. The piece should be posted to the class blog and then linked to the 100WC.net site. Entries can come from groups of children as well as individuals.

The 5 Sentence Challenge will be open to all children but it is important that those pupils who can join the 100 Word Challenge do so. The 5 Sentence Challenge is like a preliminary to the real thing.

It will start in a couple of weeks providing YOU, the reader, think it is a good idea. Please leave a comment below or tweet @100Word or @the headsoffice.

The prompt for this week still has possible connections to the festive season. It is:-

….do you have the receipt?…

Now this could refer to a child asking their parent / giver of the present so that they could change it or it might be the shop assistant talking. It could be friends discussing what they got for Christmas. Basically, it can be about all sorts of things and I know you’re imaginations will come up with some great ideas.

As usual you have just 100 words plus the 5 in the prompt. The link will be open until 10th January.

For new visitors, the 100 Word Challenge is a weekly creative writing  exchange for children under 16 years. A prompt is given that may be words or a picture and 100 words to write something creative. The piece is posted on the class blog(if you don’t have one please leave a comment below and I will post for you) then linked here using the link below.

Once posted children are encouraged to visit other entries to leave a constructive comment. That way, writing can be improved.
