  • Please complete a ‘Sign Up’ form to register your school in 100WC. It is just to keep a record of who is taking part – nothing sinister! You only need to complete it once.
  • Please try to arrange some time for your class to comment on other entries. Perhaps it could be a Wednesday morning task. Now that the numbers are growing we need schools to support each other.
  • Do let me have your videos / audios about your 100WC work to share on the blog!

I am so pleased to see so many entries this week! Goodness me what amzing work you are all doing. As you can imagine it is making choosing the Showcase VERY difficult!!

This week’s theme is linking with Feb.29th.net. You may have noticed the badge on our Feb 29 300x206 100 Word Challenge Week#21side bar to the right. This is a fantastic project for one day only. You post your entries here as usual and then on 29th February, you can post them on the Feb 29th.net site. It should be great fun so I hope you will all try to ‘double’ post!

Well done everyone!

What an amazing response to the first 5 Sentence Challenge. We had so many entries. Some of them were from children who should be trying the 100 Word Challenge because they are really developed writers. Go on, have a go!

Here are somne posts that I think deserve to be read again. They are not necessarily the best pieces but do show lots of promise!

If you are new to this challenge, here are the rules:

  • Children write 5 complete sentences. That means full stops and capital letters. They can be any length but must be correct sentences
  • These are posted on your class blog (if you do not have a class blog but would like to take part please leave a message in the comments)
  •  The URL of the post should be linked below together with the writer’s christian name, year group and school
  • Children should be encouraged to go and read some of the other entries. That is how we get our ideas!
  • Entries can be from individuals. pairs, small groups or even classes.
  • The link will be open for TWO weeks (until 29th February)

As you will see from that date, this year is a LEAP year. That is when there is an extra day in February. So, I would like you to think about:
