Week #6

Important information in the newsletter!

Each week, I send out a newsletter but often many of you do not bother reading it 🙁 Last week I asked for your views on how often 100 Word Challenge should run. I sent out over 1000 newsletters but only 45 people have responded! 🙁

Please check your inbox, trash, all mail and anywhere else that might hide the newsletter and have your say on the future of 100WC!

Record your showcase!

If you have a post showcased, why not record the winning author reading it and I can pop it on You Tube for the world to see! Let me know what you think! The latest showcase can be found

The latest showcase can be found HERE  Don’t forget to claim your certificate and badge for your blog!

Set the prompt

Since September, two schools have set the prompt that you all use. If you have an idea that you think would make an interesting challenge, get in touch nad I’ll add it to the schedule of prompts.

5 Sentence Challenge

Due to a bit of a clerical error on my part (!) the latest 5 Sentence Challenge for your emerging writers will remain open for another week, closing on 15th October. You can find it HERE

Latest prompt

Once again, we have part of a sentence for you to use in your 100 words. Remember, you must use it as it is written here and keep as hear as you can to the magic 100 words! The prompt is:

…the material felt like..

Things to consider:

  • What is the object?
  • What sort of material was it made of?
  • what vocabulary helps describe touch?

Use the tabs

The tabs along the top of the page have all sorts of useful hints and tips. do make use of them and if there is something you’d like help with, let me know and I’ll ask the wonderful Ian Addison if he can make us up a short video.

The form will close on 15th October.

Sorry, you need to log in to enter the 100 Word Challenge. Login at https://100wc.net/wp-login.php or sign up at https://100wc.net/signup-2015/.

3 thoughts on “Week #6

  1. keep up the good work everyone and have a chance of getting recomended

  2. One morning I was just about to wake up but I realized something strange. The door of my bathroom was very soft. The material felt like very soft fabric, I wondered why the door was so soft. So I went downstairs to get my dad but he
was at work. I tried to get my mum but she was too busy so I tried myself. Now I tried to push the door but it was too hard. Eventually it opened so now I could brush my teeth.

  3. I am new at this and I MISSED posting my students’ writings for this week yesterday. I am still trying to figure out how all this works because when I update my students’ writing to their pages on our class blog, ALL of their writings are in a stream, but when I read the SHOWCASED items in 100 wc, JUST the current week is shown. I cannot wait until I figure all this out. Here is a piece that slipped by the world today, but JUST NEEDS TO BE READ by OTHERS! Here is a poem Caeben penned based on the prompt from the week of 10/10. Guilderland, NY, USA:
    https://gagnoncrew.blogspot.com/p/caebens-page.html

“Wow. Is that really from TOP GUN?” I said.
“Yup. Do you want go in it.”
“What! Can you say that again.”
”Do you want go in it.” “Are you serious?”
    “Yes. OF COURSE!”
“ Wait what plane is it Mig 21?”
” Actually no. It is a tiger.”
    “Wow.”
“Well are you going in it or not.”
    “Right a way.”
Dumm Dumm Dumm Dumm! I stuck my hands in.
    I stopped.
I gazed at its glory .Then I walked in.
    I sat down.
    The seat felt leather.
    The controls felt powerful.
    The sheer assessment overwhelmed me.
    HOME.
