Here we have our second selection for the title of ‘Special Showcase’. It is an entry from Olivia who goes to Galley Hill School and is in Year 5. I’m sure you will laugh just like I did with her play on words!

At Waitrose, Janet arrived at the exchange desk, unhappy.

“Hello Madam, what’s the matter?” the lady at the desk asked, lazily. At that moment, to the desk ladie’s surprise, Janet pulled out a giant, dancing turkey!

“This is NOT the turkey I ordered.”She stated.” I asked for a free range turkey that would prance in a field, not a free lance turkey that would prance in my kitchen!”

“Do you have a receipt?” Doreen the desk lady asked, obviously not bothered.

“Um no. My dog ate it.” Janet replied. With that, she took the turkey off the counter, held onto it’s shoulders and congaed away!
