Showcase Week #28

As you can imagine with 605 entries, Team100WC had a tough time choosing the showcase pieces which is why there has been a delay on announcing them.

The Night Zoo Keeper Team have very kindly given us some prizes! There will be 3 pieces that will be read and filmed by the Nigh Zoo Keeper and posted here on the blog. The other prize will be a chance for your school to work with the Night Zoo Keeper!

Brilliant prizes – so many, many thanks to the NZK team!

Coveritlive with Brunswick House!

Last Wednesday, I was able to join in a lesson with Miss Brayford’s Year 5 class at Brunswick House School in Maidstone, Kent without being there! It was via ‘CoverItLive’ which meant that all I needed to do was sign in where ever I was.

They were starting to plan their ideas for 100 Word Challenge for Week#18.

It was really good fun, especially as I was on my laptop in the car on my way to France!! Some of Mrs Duxbury’s class at High Lawn School in Bolton also joined in.

Do have a look at how it went. You’ll be able to see how they adapted their ideas from suggestions from each other and made some excellent suggestions to each other!

Special Showcase #1

Each week one entry will be selected by Team 100WC and will be reposted here so that you can all share some amazing writing.

Our first ‘Special Showcase’ is Ross from Class 6D at High Lawn Primary in Bolton. His take on the prompt ‘…In 2012 I hope for…’ is rather different to say the least!

In 2012 I hope for,

To go into the woods and explore,

For a blue pig and a silver boar,

And even a man-eating lion that makes an ear-piercing roar.

In 2012 I hope for,

To seek for green monkeys swinging from tree to tree,

And quickly capture an Africanized honey bee,

Dodging and avoiding poisonous spiders that WILL hurt my knee,

That would really hurt. Wouldn’t you agree?

In 2012 I hope for,

To travel to Jupiter and meet some aliens,

Then I would boss them around and they would be my maidens,

I would order my aliens to get wise black ravens,

And force them to cause lots of spooky invasions.

Well done Ross. I wonder who will be our ‘Special Showcase’ next week!
